Winter NAMM 99 a Success for the Keyboard Division At this years Winter NAMM (International Music Products Association®), Yamaha showcased its popular Clavinova digital piano line along with an exciting new CD ROM merchandising tool. Additionally, visitors to the Yamaha booth were entertained with daily concerts by the young composers from the Yamaha Music Education System. For the fifth time, Musical Merchandise Review (MMR) magazine selected the Yamaha Clavinova to receive its prestigious Dealers Choice Award, this time as 1998 Digital Piano Line of the Year.
We are extremely proud to be chosen once again as the industry leader in the digital piano market, says Ray Reuter, Yamaha piano marketing manager. Our dealers stamp of approval means a great deal to us at Yamaha. Showcased at NAMM were Clavinova CVP and CLP model digital pianos. The CVP line broke sales records for new orders as soon as it was introduced, and continues to sell briskly. The latest addition the new CVP600 is an outstanding mix of elegance and state-of-the-art technology, with all the features of a CVP96 encased in the sleekly curved mini-grand cabinet of the Yamaha CLP555. The CVP600 has been an immediate hit with customers and dealers by answering a much demanded call for a combination of tradition and technology. The CLP800 series was also displayed at NAMM. The seven models achieve remarkable levels of lifelike sound at an affordable price and include several exciting new features responding to the markets needs: mahogany grain finish, Graded Hammer Effect keyboard, and Dynamic Stereo Sampling Advanced Wave Memory for unmatched piano realism. The CLP800 series established new standards for sonic realism and raised industry benchmarks for both style and performance.
