Music Composer Beats the Clock with Clavinova Independent musician, Mike Garson of Los Angeles, CA has had a long-standing relationship with Yamaha, so when he approached the company with an instrument request, they were more than happy to assist. Garson needed a digital piano to compose some music for Killer Tracks, a music library featuring acoustic instrumentation, providing background music for the radio, television and movie industries. With only one day to complete the project, Mike needed an instrument that was easy to use. He asked Piano Marketing Manager Ray Reuter for the one instrument that could fit the bill--a Clavinova CVP98 digital piano. "I wanted a CVP98 because the beats were there, the reverbs were just right and the sound was very fresh," said Garson. "I utilized the techno and Latin sounds as a base to compose my own music. What's more, I could hook up the Clavinova to a DAT machine and record the music." "Mike has worked with Yamaha to develop music for PianoSoft and PianoSoft Plus and has used Yamaha instruments, such at the GranTouch, for previous endeavors. Naturally, when he approached us for a CVP98, we gladly sent one over," explained Reuter. "We truly appreciate our relationship with Mike over the years." Some of Garson's previous work has been featured on the television shows
"Mad About You" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." Listen closely to
the music the next time you go to the movies, turn on the radio or watch your favorite
television show, because you just may be hearing the sounds of the Clavinova. Key Action Home
