Music Teachers' Association of California Celebrates Milestone with Yamaha

The Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) held its 100th annual convention last year in San Francisco's Sheraton Palace Hotel. Yamaha contributed to the tremendously successful Centennial Convention by providing a dozen Clavinova digital pianos and numerous other Yamaha instruments for master classes, practice sessions, performances and even a piano competition. Sherman Clay of San Francisco provided the Clavinova CLP and CVP digital pianos along with other Yamaha pianos used throughout the historic event.

Piano competition contestants took great pleasure in warming up on the numerous Clavinova models in a special practice room complete with headphones at each unit. The CVP models offered pianists the ability to be their own critic by recording performances and hearing them played back. Additional Clavinova models were on display at the nearby Sherman Clay booth, where many attendees explored the numerous benefits of learning, teaching and playing on the Clavinova digital piano.

"We are very appreciative of the past, present and future generosity shown by Yamaha towards the MTAC and the budding musicians of tomorrow," summarized Convention Chair Roxanna Lee.  square.GIF (58 bytes)
