Yamaha Introduces GranTouch GT2
Digital Grand Piano

What happens when the beautiful, realistic piano sound inside a GranTouch GT1 digital grand piano wants to ring out even stronger? It opens up a new world of keyboard sound and becomes the GT2.

The newest incarnation of the GranTouch will feature a liftable top, similar to a traditional grand piano. Yamaha first introduced this design to a digital piano on the CLP555 Clavinova Grand.

"As with a traditional piano design, opening the lid produces a louder, brighter sound," said Piano Marketing Manager Ray Reuter. "The liftable top also adds to the elegant look of the instrument."

Like its predecessor, the GranTouch incorporates a real grand piano keyboard and action -- complete with wooden keys and hammers -- to offer superior touch and response. Offering the same unsurpassed sensitivity, control and remarkable piano sound reproduction that has to be played to be believed, the GT2 plays and sounds like a Yamaha CFIIIS concert grand piano -- right down to the sustain pedal. The level of sophisticated sampling in the GranTouch requires incredible processing power, which is provided by the instrument's 30 MB of system memory. That's more than most of today's advanced personal computers!

Now the classic curves, realistic touch and beautiful sound of the GT1 can be enjoyed in true grand piano style, with the lid propped open. The compact size, minimal maintenance, headphone jack and MIDI/AUX connections are the only reminders that the GT2 offers the convenience and versatility of a digital piano.
