CD-ROM Wakes Up Seattle to iMac

Bill Freeman is an authorized Apple product representative in the Seattle area, who in the course of presenting iMac™ demonstrations at local computer stores, found a recurring question from prospective buyers - can it work with MIDI files? The answer is yes, and Freeman's intensive research led him to the conclusion that the Clavinova CVP CD-ROM software was the perfect vehicle for demonstrating the iMac's MIDI capabilities. He now uses the CD-ROM for all his presentations and in the process provides the computer customer with a look at all the CVP models. "There is a direct correlation to iMac sales and the Clavinova digital piano demo," says Freeman.

"Although I'm promoting Apple, my presentation shows the instrument's vast capabilities. I find it very interesting how many people inquire where they can get more information about the instrument and where they can purchase one," Freeman adds. "I'm particularly surprised at how many first-time piano players, especially senior citizens, tell me that they are planning to buy a Clavinova and take lessons."

Freeman has also come across many Clavinova owners who are discovering the instrument's ability to interface with a computer, providing access to a plethora of music software programs on the market. "This is a very good marriage of the two," says Freeman. "Each extends the capabilities of the other."

Freeman has become so enamored with the Clavinova that even though he is not a musician, he's told Steve Carver, manager of Washburn Piano Company in Seattle, that he also plans to purchase a CVP96.
