An Afternoon of Song

The Lincoln Community Theatre in Damariscotta, ME, recently held a “Summer Song” benefit recital to raise funds to purchase a Clavinova CVP98 digital piano.

The event was the brainchild the theater’s opera tenor, Jeremy Truhel. “I knew that we could use the Clavinova,” says Truhel. “We are a community theater constantly working with a varied number of voices. It’s such an adaptable instrument.” Truhel attends Overland Conservatory in Overland Ohio where he is studying to become a professional opera tenor.

He selected the Clavinova for its ability to transpose immediately. The Clavinova will play in a different key for each singer, eliminating the task of re-writing the music. The Clavinova’s diversity is extremely beneficial in a small theater that cannot afford to buy several instruments. “It can be hooked up to any number of sound systems,” says Truhel. “It’s the ideal accompaniment for artists and shows.”
