Clavinova Festivals

“The Festival helps me get teachers excited about using the Clavinova in their teaching studio, and as a result, we reach new students with the latest in music technology,” he adds.

By reaching out to students, parents, and teachers at the Clavinova Festival, Andy Owings Music in Myrtle Beach, SC, experienced increased interest in Clavinova digital pianos. The Festival resulted in the sale of Clavinovas to two music teachers and the creation of a Clavinova lab, consisting of a CVP94, three CVP92s, and two CLP820s, at a local private Christian school.

Showroom manager Mike Katz set up a Clavinova lab in the store three months prior to the Festival. It was so successful that some students came in seven days a week to practice. Parents attended several practice sessions to witness how much the child had accomplished.

The parents and teachers were amazed to see the kids working so hard on the Clavinova and realized how far the children had come as a result of their dedication. “The Clavinova gets my students excited about playing,” says Joan Bosworth, music teacher at the Calvary Christian Center in Myrtle Beach. “One student accomplished more while preparing for this Festival than she has in the last year and a half.”

After witnessing how much the Clavinova helped students, Bosworth decided to implement a Clavinova lab in the school.

Three-year-old Marissa Carson was the youngest participant in the Clavinova Festival held at Keyboard Kastle in Omaha, NE.

Laura LoGalbo at Keyboard Kastle in Omaha, NE, sees the Clavinova Festival as a win-win situation for everyone involved. “Students are exposed to the Clavinova and the chance to perform. Teachers win because they retain those students who may normally have taken time off during the summer months.”

Keyboard Kastle had 250 participants for its first Clavinova Festival last summer, with another 250 people attending the recital. “The Festival was extremely successful and as a result, we sold several Clavinovas, including a teacher who bought a CVP98 and a student who purchased a Clavinova for a church,” states LoGalbo. “We received such a positive response from the students and the teachers. They’ve asked us to never stop doing this!”
