About 50 of Erklen’s students have purchased Clavinova digital pianos in the past five years and he uses a CVP109 in his own studio. “My students know Yamaha Clavinovas are fine digital pianos,” Erklen continues. “It is the combination of the action, tone, ease of use, variety of features, as well as Yamaha’s fine reputation and superb customer service.”

Since Berkey’s illustrious 1969 debut at New York’s Town Hall, the ASCAP-Award-winning composer has written more than 300 works, which have been performed or recorded by major ensembles including the Paul Hill Chorale, The Los Angeles Master Chorale, The Sacramento Singers, Detroit Concert Choir, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Berkey and his wife, Almeda, who is an accomplished conductor, vocalist, and librettist, established their Florida-based publishing and recording companies, SDG Press and SDG Records, to offer a broad spectrum of his classical, sacred, and chamber works in both print and recorded form.
