Jackson Berkey Performs Cape May Preludes

Jackson Berkey is best known as pianist and featured keyboardist with the popular GRAMMY® Award-winning New Age group, Mannheim Steamroller. Last May, Berkey performed four special concerts on a Yamaha Clavinova CVP109 digital piano at Barnes & Noble and Media Play stores in Colorado Springs, CO to celebrate the release of his new CD, Cape May Preludes. The CD is a set of nine solo piano preludes written to capture the essence of Berkey’s winter composing sabbatical on the New Jersey shore.

Jackson Berkey from the popular GRAMMY® Award-winning New Age group Mannheim Steamroller performed four special concerts on a Yamaha Clavinova CVP109 digital piano at Barnes & Noble and Media Play stores in Colorado Springs, CO to celebrate the release of his new CD, Cape May Preludes.

“Jackson requested a Clavinova CVP109 digital piano for these concerts because he likes the combination of acoustic and electric piano sounds. He has a longstanding relationship with Yamaha and knows its reputation for superior quality,” says Phil Erklen, director of music education at Good News Piano and Organ, Inc. in Colorado Springs, who supplied the instrument. Erklen’s own company, International Music Syndicate, sponsored the in-store concerts.

“It was amazing how Jackson brought out the beauty of the CVP109,” says Erklen. “And it could be heard so well, even in the 50,000 square foot Media Play store. The public has a lot of curiosity about these instruments and asked many questions about the Clavinova’s features and capabilities.”
