Dealers Agree on Benefits of Clavinova Festival

The Clavinova Festival phenomenon continues to sweep the country as more retailers are jumping in to host their first events. For the last decade, the program has long been a staple with Yamaha dealers from coast to coast. This year's additions join the ever growing roster of Clavinova dealers who have embraced the Festivals, making it a musical tradition within their communities. Both newcomers to the program as well as veteran Festival hosts agree that the Festivals are helping them build stronger relationships with the community and develop a better rapport with music teachers.

Samuel Music in Effingham, IL held its first Clavinova Festival last April with 250 participants ranging in age from four to 60. Due to the large number of participants, the Festival was held at a local high school where both the auditorium and chorus room were used to accommodate everyone.

Participants, ranging in age from four to 52, gathered for the Heid Music Clavinova Festival held at the River Mall in Appleton, WI.

“Since this was our first Clavinova Festival, we chose a non-competitive format,” says Carla Doll of Samuel Music. “Our focus was on fun, so we didn’t have many rules. Participants could play any kind of song and a disk accompaniment was optional. The only requirement was that they had to use at least one feature of the Clavinova CVP.” Much to her surprise, many participants used disk accompaniment and some even performed their own original compositions.
