Southern California Gets an Extra Dose of CVP Training

The Fullerton Marriott in Fullerton, CA,
was the site of three one-day CVP
dealer training sessions.

In addition to the national tour CVP introduction in Cerritos, Southern California District Manager Paul Yetman organized three one-day training sessions at the Marriott Hotel in Fullerton, CA. Approximately 60 participants attended over the course of three days, including salespeople from area dealers and Yamaha staff.

Yetman, with the help of product specialist Craig Knudsen, decided on the one-day format as a more efficient alternative to training one dealer each day through a series of store visits. "This approach enabled all participants to devote 100% of their attention to this new, exciting product, without interruptions," he explained.

Participating dealers were grateful for the extra opportunity to learn about the new CVPs. "The smaller group allowed for more time to learn how to use the individual components effectively, " said John Waltrip, President of John Waltrip Music Centers of Arcadia, CA. "We also received useful take away materials," he added. Waltrip is one of several participants who attended both the Cerritos and Fullerton session. As he summed up, "Duplicate information never hurts when it comes to learning a new product line." Indeed it doesn't. Waltrip has already made a CVP98 available to the California Philharmonic Orchestra, which has used it as a piano, harp and other instruments.

All in all, everyone who got acquainted with the new CVP's this summer agrees with Yamaha that "the future is so bright, you gotta wear shades."
