Technical Support Programs Continue amaha recently completed two technical support programs in California. The California State Piano Technicians Guild Convention was held February 20 - 22 in Riverside, CA, drawing approximately 300 attendees seeking information on a variety of topics. At the Yamaha booth were the Disklavier® silent grand and the CFIIIS concert grand pianos. Yamaha presentations included: "Aftertouch: The Secret of Performance Piano Preparation," (Terry Niimi and LaRoy Edwards); "Introduction to Servicing the Disklavier and MIDIPIANO ™" (Steve Pearson); "Disklavier Master Class" (Mark Wisner). The Yamaha Little Red Schoolhouse also wrapped up another session last Winter. Led by LaRoy Edwards, Bill Brandom and Craig Fehrenbacher at Yamaha Corporation of America national headquarters in Buena Park, CA, the piano technology seminars offered one week of comprehensive instruction on grand piano regulation to selective piano technicians across the country. Graduates from the February 1998 session and their sponsoring dealers are: Bill Barber (Evans Music of Seattle, WA); Jerry Clark (Keith Jorgensen's of Idaho Falls, ID); Vladimir Greenberg (John Waltrip's Music Center of Arcadia, CA); Justin Holcomb (Wells Music of Denver, CO); Bill Kamstra (Yamaha Corporation of Buena Park, CA); Cliff Maurer (Independent); Ryan Sowers (Clinton's Music of Tacoma, WA); Ed Tomlinson (Cascade Piano of Portland, OR); and David Yerke (Mitchell Piano Works, Inc. of Stevens Point, WI).
