Mark IIXG Disklavier system. The DSR1 puts a personal professional orchestra at your fingertips when connected to a Yamaha keyboard.

"Once again Yamaha introduced a consistent flow of innovative products," said Peter Creighton of Westport-Fairfield Piano & Organ in Fairfield, CT. "I was in awe with all the new products, especially the DSR1. It's a great upgrade for current Disklavier owners." Tublitz of Artist Pianos was equally impressed with the DSR1, adding, "It's the ideal upgrade solution for older Disklavier models as well as Clavinova® CLP and pre-XG CVP models. The module not only up-dates the look and sound of a Disklavier but gives Clavinova and other MIDI keyboard owners an appreciation of Disklavier technology."

The new GranTouch™ GT7 digital grand piano (4'11"), like the GT2 introduced last spring, features the unmistakable sound of a grand piano with a real grand piano keyboard and action to offer superior touch and response. The GT7 plays and sounds like a Yamaha CFIIIS concert grand piano -- right down to the sustain pedal.

Yamaha demonstrated its solid commitment to retail support programs by showcasing an innovative multimedia computer merchandising system complete with CD-ROM Interactive Product Tours, designed in conjunction with MIDItainment, Inc. exclusively for Clavinova digital piano, acoustic piano and Disklavier dealers.

According to Craig Gigax of Meridian Music in Indianapolis, IN, Yamaha's merchandising system is cutting-edge. "The kiosks let a customer take a virtual piano and tear it down layer by layer -- it was spectacular." Sam Varon of Frank & Camille's Keyboard Centers of Melville, NY added his summary of the Yamaha experience at NAMM.

"I don't have anything but positive things to say about working with Yamaha. We're excited about the new lineup, particularly the extraordinary DGT7." In addition to noting the new products, Varon was greatly impressed by the Dealer Appreciation Dinner at NAMM, during which David Benoit performed on the CFIIIS concert grand piano.

Yamaha Family Expands
with New Store openings
and Milestone Celebrations

ith 15 years of stellar service to the Van Nuys, CA community, Keyboard Concepts has expanded to a second store in nearby Ventura County. Located in the center of beautiful Thousand Oaks, the new store had its grand opening last Fall and has become a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Particularly grateful are the numerous teachers and piano technicians in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties who routinely refer students and piano shoppers to Keyboard Concepts.

"Referrals account for more than half our customers," explained founder and President, Dennis Hagerty.
