LEITHOLD PIANO AND
HEID MUSIC
HONORED WITH TOUCHSTONE
FOUNDER’S AWARD

erry Lewis, Yamaha's corporate vice president, Keyboard Division, held special presentations of the prestigious Yamaha TouchStone Founder's Award for Roger Leithold of Leithold Music, La Crosse, WI and Peter Heid, Heid Music Company, Green Bay, WI. Yamaha created the unique award to honor its long time dealers who have been successful in the marketing of Yamaha keyboard products.

Heid, the award's first recipient, was honored last September. Bob Heid, Peter's son and the director of the store's piano department comments, "This is our 50th anniversary of selling pianos in the Appleton area. We've enjoyed a terrific relationship with Yamaha and, speaking for our family, we're extremely proud that our father- Big Duke- was selected as a recipient of this award." Bob and his brother Paul now operate the family business.

Leithold, who has been in the family business for 50 years, was honored as the recipient of the second TouchStone Founder's award during a September 29th surprise visit from Lewis. The store was started by Roger's grandfather and has been selling pianos in the La Crosse area since 1888. "My family has always known what a great guy he is, but to have Yamaha recognize him...we're just beaming," says Abbie Leithold-Gerzema of her father. Abbie and her brother Paul now actively run the company.
