PIANOS ARE THE
STAR OF
INTERACTIVE
CD-ROM

aintaining its innovative tradition, Yamaha has created a new cutting edge, in store CD-ROM, Yamaha Pianos Tradition & Innovation - An Interactive Product Tour. Loaded with exciting video clips, photo images, 3D models, graphics, and narration, this Windows™ and Macintosh™ CD-ROM aims to provide Yamaha piano customers a fun and entertaining vehicle by which they can fully research their piano purchase.

The imaginative CD includes a short video sequence, "Seven Keys to a Sound Investment," that teaches the Yamaha customer exactly what to look for in a quality piano. Providing a great deal more information than a traditional brochure, it allows the viewer to select and rotate a grand piano to view it from every angle. A photo flip book and size specification chart outlines the various upright and grand models. The CD-ROM also creates a virtual factory tour that places the customer in a 360 degree lobby where they determine which room they would like to explore. For example, one of the doors opens to a tour of the manufacturing facility where the customer can see how Yamaha handcrafts the world's finest pianos. The CD-ROM format allows for the presentation of powerful testimonials and endorsements, which have proven to be effective in helping potential piano buyers reach a decision. Concert pianist Sue Downs demonstrates how Yamaha pianos perform beautifully and flawlessly for all styles of music. Representatives from the Metropolitan Opera and the Newport Music Festival can be seen singing the praises of Yamaha's quality and support.

Yamaha Pianos Traditions & Innovations An Interactive Product Tour was also designed with the Yamaha sales staff in mind. This creative tool is a source of great product knowledge, helping to build more confidence in closing sales.

The CD-ROM was created by Tom Folenta, president of MIDItainment, Inc., a multimedia marketing company which has produced exciting product support tools and dealer programs that aid Yamaha dealers nationwide.

BARNES & NOBLE OPENS 500TH STORE

arnes & Noble opened its 500th store in Dallas to the music of a Yamaha Disklavier® DGT7 piano, provided by Brook Mays Music Company in Dallas, TX. In addition to the grand opening, the piano will be used for other store functions and special events.

"It's an impressive addition to our store," says Sandra Johnson, community relations manager for Barnes & Noble. "The artists are really pleased we provide such a high-quality piano, and customers say the piano adds an air of elegance to our store."
