Michael Whalen Relies on Yamaha for New CD

ysterious Ways, the seventh CD release from pianist and composer Michael Whalen, combines an intimate blend of pop, soul and smooth jazz that Whalen created with the help of his Yamaha S6 concert collection grand piano.

“I wanted to express feelings and emotions that I have not heard in any pop songs, or felt from other instrumental CDs,” he says. “In other words, I told the truth-that love is messy, love is fantastic, and that once you feel love, you can never forget it.”

Whalen, who saved money in high school to buy a Yamaha DX-1 FM digital synthesizer, has used a large collection of Yamaha equipment in his current and past work.
