Gonzalo Rubalcaba Named SFJAZZ 2001 Leaders Circle Laureate

amaha piano artist Gonzalo Rubalcaba has been named 2001 Leaders Circle Laureate by SFJAZZ, a non-profit organization which supports performances and educational programs in the San Francisco area, including the renowned San Francisco Jazz Festival. The annual award recognizes artists who have made significant creative contributions to both the organization and the international musical community. Rubalcaba is the youngest recipient in the history of SFJAZZ, and joins a prestigious roster that includes Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, George Shearing, and Tony Bennett. The Cuban-born keyboardist/composer and bandleader has received critical acclaim for his imaginative and seamless integration of styles and rhythms.
