Deston Entertainment's previous undertaking with Universal Records was the force behind a gold certified debut album and a top-40 single by Billie Myers' "Kiss the Rain." Recording debuts in 2000 under the Deston Entertainment/Universal record label include Jason Raize, Simba in the Broadway production of The Lion King, who's album will be released early in the year, and a recently completed CD by Australian singer/songwriter Gyan.

     Child chose to produce Gyan at the legendary Bearsville Recording Studios, located near Woodstock, NY. A Yamaha C7 grand piano was brought to Bearsville specifically for the recording of the CD because of its warm and beautiful tone. Deston Entertainment/ Universal will release Gyan's debut CD, "Suburban Opera," in summer, 2000.

Mario Grigorov Scores With the Disklavier

amaha recording artist and award winning composer Mario Grigorov, born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1963, was trained as a classical pianist from an early age. His parents were both respected classical musicians whose work took the family to Iran, East Germany, Austria, and finally, Australia. It was there that Grigorov branched out into jazz, rock, electronic music, and film and television work. The Yamaha Disklavier® GranTouch™ has been the center of many of his creative endeavors.

     Seeking wider international recognition, Grigorov moved to Los Angeles in 1992 - a move that proved quite successful to his career. He quickly landed a recording contract; released his debut album Rhymes with Orange; and went on to score music for commercials such as Coldwell Banker, Mercedes-Benz, Bell Atlantic, and Kraft among numerous others - all projects created on the Disklavier® GranTouch™.

     In 1998, Grigorov won the award for "Best Original Score for a Film" at the Hampton Film Festival for his score for the South American independent film "The Life Jacket." He now composes for Amber Music, a leading producer of music for films and commercials in London and New York.
