His
emotional, passionate musiche calls it Teshmusicis a mix of
pop and classical, infused with international flourishes for One World.
The album, released last March, embraces and celebrates diverse musical
cultures, from Native American to Irish, Spanish to Italian, classical
to pop, from soul singer James Ingram to flamenco dancer Arleen
Hurtado.

"This
album isn't World Music, but it is worldly," says Tesh. The project, which
yielded both a CD and PBS special, took a year to plan and months longer
to shoot and edit, saw Tesh and his band perform in such locations as
Rome, Ireland, Vienna, and atop a 1,200 foot mesa in Monument Valley,
UT.
"I
won't soon forget seeing my nine foot grand piano being lowered by helicopter
onto that mesa. It was a lot of work, but once you get there, it's a lot
of fun."

Yamaha artist Ronnie Foster joined forces with Canadian artist
Carol Welsman to create a jazz album using a Disklavier®
DGT2. Production of the CD, currently titled Tesoro, began
in early 1999 at Foster's private studio in Thousand Oaks, CA. The finishing
touches on the CD will be added at O'Henry Studios in Burbank, CA, where
the DGT2 sequence will be transferred to a Disklavier Pro. Tesoro
will be released in early 2000 on Bethlehem Records, a former jazz label
that has recently been revived. Welsman is one of the first artists to
record under this label since its revival.

Foster
plays the keyboard on all the albums he produces. His most recent accomplishment
includes the CD Both Sides in conjunction with Roger Smith.
Released in early 1999, this jazz album reached number one on the Record
and Review chart and number six on the contemporary jazz chart for Billboard
magazine.
Foster
also worked with vocalist Will Downing and saxophonist Gerald
Albright to produce Pleasures of the Night, which was released
in late 1997. Recorded on the Disklavier Pro, this album maintained its
position as number one on Billboard's contemporary jazz chart for
13 consecutive weeks.

Gershwin and
Disklavier Play the Hollywood Bowl
eorge
Gershwin performed at the Hollywood Bowl last September, thanks to the
wonder of a Yamaha
Disklavier® DCFIIIS. On stage, Gershwin's original piano rolls
were accompanied by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in "The Party of
the Century," a traditional fireworks display tied in with a pre millennium
bash that featured guests from the past, present, and future. More than
50,000 people attended the three sold out shows.
