Login timer

To avoid the console occupation by the idle user, Yamaha router watches the console input and forces such user to logout when there is no input while the duration set by the 'login timer' command. Refer the documentation of the login timer command.

Command input format on the console

After the login process, Yamaha router displays the prompt string in different ways depending on the privilege level. Therefore you can distinguish whether the privilege level is User level user or Administrator level user.

Prompt for User level :
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
|
| >
|
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Prompt for Administrator level :
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
|
| #
|
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can enter the command line following the prompt string.
The command is executed when you press the 'Enter' key.

Yamaha router usually treats the command line as non case-sensitive / case-insensitive.
The upper-case and lower-case characters, such as 'A' and 'a', are treated as the same character. The characters which be placed between single quote(') or double quote(") characters are treated as case-sensitive.

For the other key inputs than the command line, such as the password inputting, Yamaha router uses the case-sensitive rule.

Display on the console

For the many lines of information over the console height, Yamaha router displays the information using the 'more' function or the 'less' function. You can read the information page by page.

Line-editing function

You can edit the command line or recall the history of the last inputted command by the line-editing function.

Command complement function

Command complement function assists entering long command keywords.
