ANAHEIM, Calif. — When music production and performance pros spend thousands of dollars on an instrument like the Motif XS, they want to know that their investment is going to last. With the revamp of the Motifator.com 3.0 Web site, Yamaha demonstrates its commitment to provide professional-quality support that enhances the instrument's ability to provide quality music production and creation capabilities for years to come.

In 2008, Yamaha announced a series of new support items for the Motif XS, including a new operating system, Firewire drivers and a new editor with drum editing capabilities on top of site's more than one million forum posts, hundreds of support documents, and hours of videos, along with support for the entire Yamaha Synthesizer line.

Now, in addition to the overhaul of Motifator.com 3.0, developed in conjunction with Keyfax NewMedia, Yamaha rolls out several new upgrades, including the new VST3 editor for the Motif XS. Downloads and upgrades will be introduced in January 2009, beginning with OS 1.21 and several sample banks. Other offerings will continue to be released through April, when the OS 1.5 is scheduled to debut. Please check Motifator.com for details.

"Not only is the Motif XS the top selling sampling music workstation and the instrument of choice for many top sound designers, it is also the most expandable, with the most complete sound library support of any workstation keyboard on the market," said Athan Billias, Director of Marketing, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "The XS continues to be the music workstation market leader because of its sound quality and variety, computer integration and interactive tools for music creation."

Motifator.com 3.0 uses the latest artificial intelligence technology to tailor the site for each visitor, providing relevant information regarding the type of instrument an individual owns along with his or her type of music and style of production. The site delivers new updates, events, sounds and support, while providing platforms with social networking features like member interaction, music sharing and artist profiles.

Yamaha will also offer two new OS upgrades, including one that enhances user sampling capacities, a new Firewire driver that provides seamless connections to N Series mixers and Steinberg interfaces and the XSpand Your World downloadable sounds promotion, which features the release of free downloadable sample banks for the XS from some of the top sound developers in the business, including DCP Productions, Digital Sound Factory, Sonic Reality and Keyfax NewMedia. The free banks total almost 1 GB of data and will include pianos, strings, guitars, ethnic instruments, choirs, synthesizers and loops. Other new sample and voice libraries will also be available for purchase at Motifator.com.
