By using the supplied IR flashers, you can control your external components (amplifier, AV receiver, Blu-ray/DVD/CD player, TV, etc) from the Music Commander (remote operation).

For details on the external component, refer to the manual supplied with it.

Some or all remote operations may not work or may work differently depending on the external component.

Connect the supplied IR flasher to one of the REMOTE CONTROL OUT jacks.

Three REMOTE CONTROL OUT jacks works in the same manner. You can connect the IR flasher to any one of them.

Peel off the label on the signal emitter of the IR flasher.

Attach the signal emitter near the remote control sensor window.

You may need to check the location of remote control sensor window by using the remote control of your receiver (or amplifier) before attaching the signal emitter.

Configure the “Remote Control” settings to enable remote operations for your external components.

You can configure the following items in the “Remote Control” settings.

Add remote operation devices and keys
Edit existing remote operation devices and keys
Learning key codes from the remote control of an external component
Program macro operations for remote operation devices

By default, four Yamaha products (AV receiver, DVD player, YSP and Blu-ray disc player) and corresponding keys are registered as the remote operation devices and keys. These remote operation keys work for certain Yamaha products.

Configure the “Amp Control” settings to enable amplifier synchronization controls for the amplifier connected to the Music Player.

By configuring the remote control key codes in the “Amp Control” settings, you can control the amplifier connected to the Music Player in conjunction with Music Player operations (power on/off, volume, wakeup macro, etc).
