NEXO PS R2 SPEAKER BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. (YCAS) has announced the addition of the new NEXO PS R2 to its NEXO PS Series high–output, compact speakers. The new PS R2 delivers enhanced performance with higher SPL and extended bandwidth, and re–designed cabinetry and grilles – all within the same compact footprint that make the PS 8, PS10 and PS15 some of the best–selling small loudspeakers in available to the commercial audio market.

New mounting plates derived from the NEXO GEO Series enable a vast array of touring and fixed accessories to be used with the new models. Innovative sub–bass options now available in the LS600 and the RS15 and new analog controllers and amplification options with the NXAMP will provide further versatility to the PS R2 Series. The R2 upgrades to the PS Series have been made without any changes to the pricing structure of the PS Series. Availability is anticipated during the fourth quarter of 2009.

"The NEXO PS R2 range is ideal for near field, portable and installed PA applications in clubs, houses of worship, theatres and A/V installations," states Albert Cardenas, acoustic systems manager. "Its a great choice for stage monitoring at all levels of live performance, and the cabinets will also serve as fill–in complements for NEXO GEO and Alpha systems."

Marking the 30th anniversary of NEXO, one of the worlds most highly regarded professional loudspeaker systems, this year completes the first full year of the companys transition in becoming a wholly–owned subsidiary of Yamaha Corporation Japan, a partnership that provides customers with complete sound system solutions by utilizing products from both lines. Currently, NEXOs distribution network extends to over 50 countries, with exclusive representation in the North America by YCAS.

Since its creation in 1979 NEXO has found great success in both the touring and installation markets. From its prestigious first install at the Maison de la Culture in Grenoble (1984), in southern France, NEXO products have been installed in many performing arts venues and houses of worship including the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in California, First Baptist Church in South Carolina, Liberty Hall in Kansas, The Classic Center in Georgia, and many more.
