Does BODiBEAT actually change the speed of the song in response to a change in your pace?
No, BODiBEAT does not alter the song; it automatically changes to a new song with a beat that matches the pace of your footsteps. BODiBEAT selects and plays songs that you have loaded into the device. BODiBEAT also comes pre-loaded with thousands of randomly mixed MIDI-based electronic songs.
How many songs will BODiBEAT hold?
BODiBEAT can store up to approximately 100 songs, depending on the size of the song files. BODiBEAT is designed for your workouts and not intended to be your music library. However, you can easily move songs in and out of your device with the BODiBEAT Station PC software which can index and hold the data for tens of thousands of songs.

My BODiBEAT device is only playing "BODiBEAT songs" during my workout and not any of the songs that I loaded into the device.
- Under Settings/ Music Settings/ Workout Music/ Music Priority, if "BODiBEAT Songs" is selected, you will only hear BODiBEAT Songs, which are randomly mixed MIDI loops. To hear the songs you have loaded into BODiBEAT, you must have Music Priority set to "User Songs" or "Mix."
- It is possible that none of your User Songs have a tempo that is close to the pace of your run. You may need to load songs with a higher or lower bpm (beats per minute) into your BODiBEAT.
I have Windows Vista and I am having trouble importing and playing AAC encoded audio files
BODiBEAT Station v1.0.79.0 and v1.0.79.2 installed on Windows Vista with User Account Control turned on will not import or play AAC encoded audio files.
To fix this issue...
- If BODiBEAT Station is currently installed:
- Locate Setup.exe on the installation CD and right-click 'Run as Administrator' (you will need administrator credentials)
- Select 'Repair' from the installer options
OR
- If you have not already installed BODiBEAT Station:
Right-click on Setup.exe on the installation CD and choose 'Run as Administrator' (for this you will need administrator credentials).
After the above repair, the BODiBEAT Station application is launched automatically in the context of the administrator account – this is generally not desirable as the user may import audio, etc which will not be available to him/her when the application runs next. To avoid this problem, close the application and then re-open it. This problem will occur if the installer is ever run by the 'Run as Administrator' method.

BODiBEAT is not detecting my heart rate properly.
Try:
- Changing the pulse sensor location on your ear.
- Gently rubbing or massaging your ear to stimulate blood circulation.
- Adjusting the sensitivity of the pulse senor under the Hardware Settings menu.
- Clamp onto as much of your ear as possible.
- Wipe the lens of the pulse sensor with a soft and dry cloth. If dirt, oil, or sweat adheres to the lens of the pulse sensor, your pulse may not be detected properly.
BODiBEAT seems to be too sensitive – it keeps changing the song it plays even though my running pace barely changes.
Decrease Pace Sensor sensitivity under Settings/Hardware Settings/Sensors and/or decrease Step Sensor sensitivity under Settings/Hardware Settings. Also, it is important to keep in mind that the BODiBEAT software does automatically cut off some songs in order to keep the music at a consistent beat.
BODiBEAT seems to be not sensitive enough – it only changes the song it plays if I dramatically change the pace of my running.
Increase Pace Sensor sensitivity under Settings/Hardware Settings/Sensors and/or increase Step Sensor sensitivity under Settings/Hardware Settings.
BODiBEAT takes too long to recognize that I have changed my pace and it takes too long to change the song accordingly.
Increase Step Sensor sensitivity under Hardware Settings/ Sensors.
Power will not turn on.
- Make sure the battery is charged; OR
- Press the "RESET" button next to the mini-USB port on the device

The time of the exercise logs seem to be wrong.

The LED doesn't flash even if I attach the pulse sensor.
The LED flashes only during an exercise session in the Free Workout, Walk Fitness, Jog Fitness or Training modes, or when the Checking HR display is shown (page 71). In all other situations, the LED is off.
Some songs in the Walk or Jog playlist is lost or cannot be found.
This is normal when the learning function is set to on. The tempo range for Walk/Jog playlists are updated every time you change the pace during your exercise manually. If the song's tempo falls outside the tempo range for the playlist, it will be eliminated from the playlist.
In Training mode, I set the appropriate target as "Pace" but the played song's tempo seems to be different from the set pace.
The pace is determined based on the jog stride setting. If the stride setting differs from your actual stride, the tempo of the song playing while exercising may be too fast or too slow. Change the stride setting (pg 73 of Owner's Manual).
