BA in Music Performance Percussion, from The Eastman School of Music under percussion professor John Beck. Also studied with Gary Chaffee and Keith Copeland.
The NYC-based drummer/ producer is currently playing with Idina Menzel doing promo work for Idina's new record, and will be touring worldwide next year, 2017. Rich has played for and toured extensively with Idina for 5 years. He is also playing with Steven Van Zandt and the Disciples of Soul and is currently recording with Steven for his soon to be released record, Steven Van Zandt and the DOS, all while holding down the chair on the broadway show Waitress (music written by Sara Bareilles), which he was also an orchestrator on.
Rich recently played on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer Darlene Love's record with guest appearance by Elvis Costello, Paul Schaefer and Steven Van Zandt. Has also played and or recorded with artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Sara Bareilles, Jewel, Regina Spektor, Jonatha Brooke, Rachel Yamagata, Ben E. King, Rita Wilson and Katherine McPhee.
Rich has had the chair on the broadway shows Little Shop of Horrors, Martin Short's Fame Becomes Me, Sister Act, Finding Neverland and currently, Waitress.
