Yamaha Drums Welcomes New Artist Gorden Campbell

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (March 7, 2007) — Yamaha Drums is pleased to welcome Gorden Campbell to the Yamaha Drum family. He has worked with some of the industry's top artists and entertainers and is currently the musical director for R&B star Ne-Yo.

"I've always loved the sound of Yamaha drums, but it is throughout my years of playing in high profile situations that I really took notice of Yamaha's consistency and craftsmanship. The quality of the instrument eventually won me over," comments Campbell.

“We are so happy that Gorden has chosen to play Yamaha Drums. He is truly a multi-faceted artist with expertise in touring, studio work, producing and more," adds Joe Testa, international artist relations manager for Yamaha Drums.

A graduate of Howard University with a major in Jazz Studies, Campbell has worked with a wide variety of artists, including Earth, Wind & Fire, George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clark, Mary J. Blige, and Jessica Simpson to name a few. He recently worked on the smash hit movie Dreamgirls soundtrack and can also be heard in the movies Be Cool and Love Chronicles.
