Larry Bradford's Biography

Larry Bradford is Minister of Instrumental Music at Fairview Baptist Church and Director of the Fairview Academy of Fine Arts in Columbus, MS. At Fairview, he directs the Celebration Orchestra, three handbell groups, two steel drum groups and all of the praise bands. He received a Bachelor of Music Education from Delta State University and a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Percussion Performance from The University of Alabama. Dr. Bradford has more than 20 years of teaching experience ranging from 6th grade to collegiate level.

Prior to coming back to Fairview in 2011, Dr. Bradford was Associate Professor of Music and Assistant Band Director at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. He held the office of President of the Mississippi Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society from 1990-1992. Dr. Bradford was awarded the DSU Outstanding Music Alumni Award in 2001. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Delta Kappa, the Mississippi Bandmasters Association and the Percussive Arts Society and serves on the Education Team for Vic Firth Sticks and Mallets. Dr. Bradford is also proud to be a Performing Artist for the Yamaha Corporation of America.
