Dr. Karen McGale Fiehler is an active freelance musician and private teacher in the metropolitan Phoenix area. She resigned her position as Lecturer of Horn at Northern Arizona University, where she taught from 2001-2003. She previously taught at Southern Illinois University, Arizona State University and the University of Arizona. Hailing from Toronto, Canada, she has toured throughout the United States and Canada, presenting recitals, master classes and breathing clinics at festivals and workshops including performances at the Dale Clevenger Workshop, the Trans Atlantic Horn Quartet seminar, the International Horn Society "Summit", Camp Avalon, IHS Midwest Regional workshops and A.I.R. Horns.
She earned her D.M.A. Solo Performance degree from Arizona State University where she served as teaching assistant to Thomas Bacon. Karen received the B.Mus.A. degree from The University of Western Ontario and the M.Mus. degree from McGill University. Her principal teachers include Thomas Bacon, James Sommerville and David Griffin.
Karen is a Yamaha Performing Artist.
