Mimi Stillman is one of the most highly regarded flutists in the concert world today. At 12, Ms. Stillman was the youngest wind player ever admitted to the Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with Julius Baker and Jeffrey Khaner and received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1999. Ms. Stillman has performed recitals and with orchestras all over the United States and abroad. Respected for her inspiring teaching, she has served on the faculty of the Western Connecticut State University Summer Flute Institute and the International Clarinet and Saxophone Connection Festival at the New England Conservatory. She teaches privately in Philadelphia and coaches flute ensembles at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Stillman has performed recitals at the Kennedy Center, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, the Academy of Music in Philadelphia,
the Philadelphia Museum of Art, La Jolla Chamber Music Society, the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, the Italian Festival delle Nazioni, and other venues. She has appeared as soloist with The Philadelphia Orchestra and orchestras throughout the United States and Mexico. She is a substitute flutist in The Philadelphia Orchestra.
Respected for her inspiring teaching, Ms. Stillman has taught master classes and performed recitals for universities and flute societies, such as the National Flute Association, Mid-Atlantic Flute Fair (Flute Society of Washington), Arizona Flute Society, Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA, Raleigh Area Flute Association, University of Maryland, and University of Georgia. Among her many awards are the Brenreiter Prize for the Best Historical Performance for Winds and The Philadelphia Orchestra Young Artists Competition.
Dedicated to contemporary music, Ms. Stillman gave the world or local premires of works by Martin Amlin, Lowell Liebermann, Jennifer Higdon, Daniel Dorff, Richard Danielpour, Robert Maggio, and Eugenio Toussaint. She has been featured in the national press, is a frequent guest on NPRs Performance Today and WGBH Boston, and is host and performer on the Musical Encounters TV show and video The Magic Flute.
