Oscar Petty has served as Principal Solo Oboe with the Rome Festival Orchestra, Virtuosi de Camera, Harlem Festival Orchestra, and the Bergen Philharmonic. He has worked with some of the world's most gifted maestros, including Leonard Berstein, Daniel Lewis, Thomas Michalak, Christopher Hogwood, Leonard Slatkin, and Kay George Roberts. Mr. Petty is Solo Oboe of the Gateways Festival Orchestra at the Eastman School of Music and on the faculty of Arts High School in Newark, New Jersey.

Oscar Petty is a native of New Jersey. He has served as Principal Solo Oboe with the Rome Festival Orchestra, Virtuosi de Camera, Harlem Festival Orchestra, and the Bergen Philharmonic. He has worked with some of the world's most gifted maestros, including Leonard Berstein, Daniel Lewis, Thomas Michalak, Christopher Hogwood, Leonard Slatkin, and Kay George Roberts. Mr. Petty earned his Bachelor's degree from Montclair State University and a Masters from Rutgers University. He has also studied at Mannes College of Music and was awarded fellowships to the Aspen Music School, Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, and the American Conservatory of Music in Fontainbleau, France. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center and the New Jersey Mozart Festival. He is also Solo Oboe of the Gateways Festival Orchestra at the Eastman School of Music.
Mr. Petty has performed on numerous television programs. His teachers have included Bert Lucarelli, Richard Killmer, Stephen Adelstein and Marsha Heller. Mr. Petty has recorded with the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea, a solo recording with the Billings Symphony and is featured on a recording titled Spectrum featuring the music of Mario Lombardo. Mr. Petty is on the faculty of Arts High School in Newark, New Jersey.
