Bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 1985, Douglas Yeo is a respected performer, teacher, writer and conductor. His multi-faceted musical life ranges from performances on historical brasses (serpent, ophicleide and bass sackbut) to playing concertos by John Williams and Chris Brubeck with the Boston Pops Orchestra. A faculty member at Boston's New England Conservatory of Music, Douglas worked closely with Yamaha in the development of the YBL-622 bass trombone and the Yamaha Douglas Yeo Signature Series Bass Trombone Mouthpiece. Douglas Yeo has been a Yamaha artist since 1992. Music students from around the globe have benefited from Douglas Yeo's generosity with his musical brilliance.

Bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 1985, Douglas Yeo is a respected performer, teacher, writer and conductor. A graduate of Wheaton College (Illinois) where he studied with Edward Kleinhammer, and New York University, his multi-facated musical life ranges from performances on historical brasses (serpent, ophicleide and bass sackbut) to playing concertos by John Williams and Chris Brubeck with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Before coming to Boston, he was a high school band director for two years, actively freelanced in New York City and was a member of the Baltimore Symphony.
Douglas Yeo's award-winning website (www.yeodoug.com) contains hundreds of pages of his articles and resources and is one of the internets most popular and important sites devoted to the trombone and music making. His solo recordings, "Two of a Mind," "Cornerstone," "Take 1," "Proclamation," and his newest release of music featuring his playing the serpent, "Le Monde du Serpent" have met with enthusiastic critical acclaim. As Music Director of the New England Brass Band since 1998, he has released two additional discs, "Christmas Joy!" and "Honour and Glory."
