Nebojsa Zivkovic is recognized as one of the world's top marimba and percussion soloists and many composers have dedicated works to him. In addition to his full time composing and concert activities, Nebojsa gives master classes and seminars in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the United States and he performs on Yamaha marimbas exclusively.

"Crystal-clear tone and tuning, extremely wide dynamic range, excellent tone-projection (which is very important when performing with an orchestra), light but sturdy and rattle-free frame, easy to disassemble and pack in the soft bags for transportation to the concert hall: This is why the Yamaha marimba has been my choice for nearly 20 years!"
Biography:
Hailed by critics as one of the most unique and expressive artists in the field today, Nebojsa Zivkovic is recognized as one of the world's top marimba and percussion soloists. He embodies a very rare tradition: the composer and virtuoso in one person, which was common in the 19th century among famous concert artists. Nebojsa completed his master's degrees as a triple major in composition, music theory and percussion in Mannheim and Stuttgart, Germany. He tours Europe extensively, performs in Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Russia, Latin America, Mexico, and frequently in the USA. As a soloist, mostly with his own Marimba concertos, Zivkovic has played with the Stuttgart Philharmonic, Munich Symphonic, Bochum Philharmonic, Austrian Chamber Symphony, Hannover Radio Symphony, Bielefeld Philharmonic, Belgrade Philharmonic, National Orchestra of Costa Rica, Thessalonica State Orchestra Greece, Turku Philharmonic, and Finland to name but a few.

Nebojsa has performed in such prestigious venues as Vienna's "Konzerthaus," Munich's Herkulessaal, National Recital Hall Taipei, Stockholm's Nybrokajen, St. Petersburg's Hermitage Theatre, and Belgrade's Famous Kolarac-Hall. He has been a featured guest at numerous festivals such as Gaudeamus Amsterdam, Dance-in-your-head (Minneapolis), and twice at Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival. In addition to his full time composing and concert activities, Nebojsa gives master classes and seminars in Europe, Asia, and Latin America and in the USA.

Contemporary music is an important part of Zivkovic's repertoire, and many composers have written works dedicated to him. His own compositions can best be described as "new music with sparks and soul." In particular, his works for marimba and percussion have entered the standard repertoire among many percussionists worldwide. His compositions are performed annually in nearly 50 countries. Nebojsa has also made a number of TV appearances and radio recordings in Germany and abroad. His creative output is captured on five compact discs of marimba and percussion and one recording of Darius Milhaus's marimba/vibraphone concerto recorded with the Austrian Chamber Symphony in Vienna.
