"In most cases, the music I play does not require lots of licks. It requires a big fat groove. So when I strike a drum, the sound is most important. I need a snare that 'cracks and pops,' yet whispers; Toms that are melodic and profound, a bass drum that has depth and punch. And I find those sounds in my Yamaha drums." — Charles Collins
